Brocante Baking, Walking, Running and Shopping.
How have you been using the extra time that lockdown 2.0 has given us?
Have you been baking up a frenzy, soaking up (pun intended?) the weather with long crisp walks, having a lockdown Zoom fitness kickstart? Or are you making the most of the peace and quiet with a cosy night in with a bit of online shopping?
Here at Brocante we have all been doing a bit of each of these, alongside re - doing the floor in the Fowey shop, moving all of the stock about and packing up lots of your lovely orders.
The excuse to bake and have yummy lunches everyday.
Yummy quiches, stuffed jacket potatoes, and a selection of super fresh veg straight from the garden. We have been lunching like kings, and have probably eaten more carrots than Rudolph and the other reindeer. We are big fans of pudding in Brocante too, and some of us have been lucky to have been gifted some apples from a neighbours garden - the perfect excuse for a yummy apple cake. Sadly it did not last long enough for Kieron or David to have a slice.
Exploring the coast path on long walks.
Tammy and Jayde have been making the most of the extra time and pushing themselves to get out and about (socially distanced) walking and enjoying the beautiful coastline that we are so lucky to live nearby. Next week there will be a separate blog from Jayde sharing much more about this, I am excited.
Kieron getting back into running.
Whilst many events and races for next year have been cancelled, such as the Bath Half Marathon which Kieron, David, James, Maria and James’ Fiancee, Joeli were all entered for, we have found the motivation to get out there again. Kieron and Maria are making the most of being able to exercise with another person by heading out for a run when the orders are packed up for the day. Accountability makes it much easier to get it done, and 99% of the time you feel amazing afterwards. Yesterday however they were both grumpy - oops!
Personalised shopping afternoons.
On Saturday Kieron and David hosted a zoom shopping event for a lovely group of friends who had requested it. They were shown around the shop and generally entertained by David’s talking! They each found a box of goodies that we have posted of to them. If this sounds like something you would be interested in then please do get in touch.
Hopefully you are all keeping well and busy in this lockdown, we cannot wait to see you back in the shops, fingers crossed soon !
