Reflecting on 2020 and Wishing You a Merry Christmas.

Suddenly December is drawing to a close - what a year.

Hopefully you will all get to enjoy a couple of days of relaxation over the holidays, even if it might look slightly different for you this year. We would like to take a second to thank all of our lovely customers, both online and in store who have supported us throughout this year. It has been unexpected for all, however we hope we have been able to bring a smile to your face, whether it be from a purchase or our silly behaviour.

Whilst we cannot say that 2020 has been brilliant, we can look back with pride at some of our achievements. Shutting in March was terribly upsetting as we had no idea what the future held for any of us, however our team all rallied around and lifted one another’s spirits as much as possible, with calls and socially distanced walks, even the odd care package to raise some smiles.

When we were able to open, the same group of happy people did all they could to make work as positive an environment as possible, for themselves as much as for you, our customers. The learning curve was one we went on together, and we can look back on how the Brocante family (staff and customers) adapted with pride. The shop remained the same upbeat environment.

2020 was also the year we finally put our minds towards improving the website, and it has been a great success. We hope that we can continue to improve in 2021, and we are excited by the prospect. There is nothing like seeing you all in person though, and we are pinning our hopes on being able to do more of that in the next year. When you do get here the shops are looking the best they have ever looked as we used the months we were closed to make changes and paint and repair, things we have always been too busy to do.

In the thick of the worldwide crisis we were delighted to receive the award for Best Specialist Multiple Gift Retailer for the UK as voted for by industry experts. This was a big moment after 14 years of trading.

We won’t be stopping at home for long, our shop closes on Christmas Day, however we are open until 4pm on Christmas Eve, and back again on Boxing Day. Here is a summary of our opening hours over the festive period..

24th December: 10am-4pm

25th December: Closed

26th December: 11am-4pm

27th, 28th, 29th, 30th December: 10am - 5.30pm.

31st December: 10am - 4pm.

1st January: 11am-4pm.

Then hopefully back to usual, however we will keep you updated.

Above is a happy throwback to our Fowey/Mevagissey and St Ives Christmas parties last year. Not possible this year but looked back upon fondly.

Wishing you all the best for the remainder of 2020 and let’s hope that 2021 is better all round.
